Poster stands in towns encourage interest in the stories of prominent local residents
At the end of June, the stands of the local activity group of the Rokiškis district in Obeliai, Jūžintai and Panemunėlis came to life with posters of famous locals. The attention of passers-by will be aroused by our people who have returned from historical memory: traditional Lithuanian song writer Emilija Zaukaitė-Kuzavinienė (she turns 120 this year), banker Juozas Paknys (140 years old), journalist and editor Petras Ruseckas (140 years old).

The idea of street posters "Series 20th century: they created Lithuania and the Rokiškis region" for the public institution "Savas Rokiškis" arose four years ago. The organization applied for support to the municipality's initiative program for the preservation of ethnic culture, history and national memory. Through this funding and the voluntary efforts of non-governmental organizations, new posters are born every year, commemorating the noble and significant works of local people for Lithuania. This project idea is supported by the project partners: Rokiškis Union of Youth Organizations "Apvalus stalas" and local activity group of Rokiškis District.
The posters of Emilija Zaukaitė-Kuzavinienė, Juozas Paknis, Petras Ruseckas, who visited the homes of prominent local people during the summer, will come to Rokiškis in the fall.
